I am in the fifth year of my Ph.D. studies at UCSB, focusing on experiments which shed light on the origin of life.  Using our techniques, I have an opportunity to study the intrinsic photostability of alternative nucleobases that would be present in a prebiotic environment and better the understanding of photochemical selection pressures in a prebiotic environment.
